King County Elections (KCE) mailed ballots to Bellevue voters on Oct. 14, and five drop boxes across the city opened Oct. 15. All boxes accept ballots 24 hours a day through 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3.

The drop boxes are at:

  • Bellevue College, 3000 Landerholm Cir. SE, 98007
  • Bellevue Library, 1111 110th Ave. NE, 98004
  • Crossroads Shopping Center (south entrance), 15600 NE 8th St., 98008
  • Newport Way Library, 14250 SE Newport Way, 98006
  • North Bellevue Community Center, 4063 148th Ave. NE, 98007

The Bellevue College box is new this year.

KCE added 15 drop boxes countywide for 2026, bringing the total to 100 across King County. In the August primary, 70% of returned ballots came through a drop box, according to KCE.

Voters who need in-person help can visit the Bellevue College vote center on three dates:

  • Saturday, Oct. 31: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 2: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Election Day, Nov. 3: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Staff can assist with ballot replacement, registration and accessible voting.

KCE projects 75% turnout for the November general election. That would mean roughly 1.1 million ballots returned from the county's 1.45 million registered voters. Turnout hit 76% in the 2018 midterm and 66% in 2022, according to KCE.

Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs urged voters to use drop boxes rather than mail. "If you really want to use your mailbox, you have to do it early," Hobbs said, according to United Way of King County. "If you're 10 days from the election, don't even do it."

The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing ballots at least one week before Election Day. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 to count.

Key dates for Bellevue voters:

  • By Oct. 19: Ballots should arrive. Voters who haven't received one should call KCE at 206-296-8683.
  • Oct. 26: Deadline to register or update registration online or by mail. In-person registration remains available through Election Day.
  • Nov. 3, 8 p.m.: All drop boxes close. No exceptions.

Results will be posted after 8 p.m. on Nov. 3, with weekday updates through Nov. 23. KCE plans to certify the election on Nov. 24.
