Bianca Tse is running for King County Northeast District Court Judge, Position 1, in the November 3, 2026, general election. The official King County Elections candidate list identifies Jan Trasen as the other candidate in this nonpartisan race.
In her submitted Surround Sound Media questionnaire, Tse describes herself as a first-generation immigrant who arrived in Washington as a child. She says that experience informs her view that judges should treat people with empathy, fairness and attention to community safety.
Tse says she spent more than 16 years as a King County deputy prosecuting attorney, handling cases ranging from DUI and property crimes to robbery, assault and homicide. She now leads Tse & Associates and says her practice provides bilingual legal services for families and businesses. She reports serving as a judge pro tempore in King County and on the Eastside since 2021.
In the questionnaire, Tse lists an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and a law degree from Tulane University School of Law.
Asked what distinguishes her candidacy, Tse emphasizes trial experience and a practical understanding of evidence, witnesses and courtroom pressures. She says her prosecutorial work included evaluating eligible cases for Drug Diversion Court and Mental Health Court. As a judge pro tempore, she says she has presided over Community Court with the aim of helping participants avoid reoffending under court oversight.
Tse cites years of trial work and temporary judicial service as preparation for the position. These descriptions of her experience and approach are drawn from her own questionnaire responses.
