Dave Larson is running for Washington Supreme Court Position 5 in the November 3, 2026, general election. The official King County Elections candidate list identifies Theo Angelis as the other candidate in this nonpartisan race.

In his submitted Surround Sound Media questionnaire, Larson says he is seeking the seat to pursue reforms in civil and criminal justice and rebuild public confidence in the courts.

Larson lists 18 years as a trial judge and 23 years as a trial lawyer in his questionnaire. He identifies previous service on Federal Way Municipal Court from 2008 through 2025 and on the Federal Way School Board in 2008. Those dates describe his own reported service; the profile does not assume that he still holds those offices.

He reports earning a law degree from Seattle University School of Law in 1984 and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Puget Sound in 1980.

Larson says his preparation includes managing a court for 16 years, teaching new judges at judicial college for 10 years, and working in law firms and as in-house counsel. He emphasizes trial-court experience as an important qualification for appellate review and rulemaking.

Asked for advice that has shaped his outlook, he wrote: “You cannot control anything other than how you react.” The experience, qualifications and goals in this article are attributed to his submitted questionnaire rather than presented as independently verified performance measures.
