Downtown Bellevue hosts at least nine Halloween events between Oct. 23 and Oct. 31. The lineup spans free trick-or-treating for kids and late-night costume parties for adults, according to a guide by Sandy Vo of the Bellevue Downtown Association.
Free trick-or-treating on Main Street
The Old Bellevue Merchants Association hosts Little Monsters on Main on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. Businesses, restaurants and residential communities along Main Street will hand out free candy to costumed kids.
KidsQuest Spooktacular
KidsQuest Children's Museum holds its annual Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year's theme is "Haunted Hoedown," a rodeo-style adventure with games, activities and creative play across the museum.
Costumes are encouraged. Admission is $18 for children and $15 for adults, according to the museum's event page. Member adults get in free.
Falloween at The Bellevue Collection
The Bellevue Collection runs its Falloween promotion from Monday, Oct. 26, through Saturday, Oct. 31. There will be no trick-or-treating at Bellevue Square on Halloween day. Instead, families can pick up a free coloring tote at Bellevue Square's Guest Services anytime that week, one per child, while supplies last. Fall-themed photo sets will also be available.
Nightlife and dance parties
The week's nightlife kicks off early. A Halloween Social Dance on Friday, Oct. 23, offers free admission and parking starting at 10 p.m. The 21-and-over event features cumbia, salsa and bachata, with dance instruction for beginners.
A Persian and Middle Eastern Halloween party follows on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10:30 p.m.
On Friday, Oct. 30, Mirra hosts a Bollywood Halloween Party starting at 10:30 p.m.
Halloween night itself brings three late-night options. Ascend Prime's "Coven" lounge party runs from 9 p.m. to midnight, featuring specialty cocktails, spiritual readings, music by DJ D-Look and a costume contest. W Bellevue's "Alter Ego" party starts at 8 p.m. in the Living Room Bar and The Porch, with a live DJ and prizes for best-dressed. Suite Restaurant and Lounge holds its 16th annual Halloween bash, also on Oct. 31 according to the guide, with $1,000 in cash and prizes for the top three costumes, aerial performances by Kindra Jane and music from resident DJs E-POP and AJ Sorbello.
A "Dark Night" party on Oct. 31 rounds out the evening with Ukrainian-influenced electronic music. Costumes are required.
Looking ahead
Once the costumes come off, ice skates go on. The Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink opens Nov. 13 at Bellevue Downtown Park for its 29th season, as we reported Oct. 15.
