Every dollar spent on a ticket to the Bellevue Collection's Fashion Reigns Runway Show on Saturday, Sept. 26, will go to KidsQuest Children's Museum and its planned $60 million renovation of the former Bellevue Arts Museum building at 510 Bellevue Way NE.

The event is the first major public gathering announced at the Steven Holl-designed building since KidsQuest purchased it for $5 million earlier this year, ending BAM's receivership. The City of Bellevue committed $10 million toward the relocation in May.

Tickets for the 21-and-over evening, which runs 6 to 9:30 p.m., went on sale Aug. 14 at bellevuecollection.com/fashionreigns.

What's included

Every seat is front row. Admission covers runway seating for all guests, food and drinks from restaurants in the Bellevue Collection's Dining District, a $25 Bellevue Collection promo card redeemable at any of the property's stores and restaurants, and a gift with additional offers.

"This year, we have the privilege of supporting KidsQuest Children's Museum while shining a light on the space that will soon be transformed into their future home," Jennifer Leavitt, senior vice president of marketing for the Bellevue Collection, said in a statement posted by the Bellevue Downtown Association.

Two decades of shows

The fall runway show has run for more than 20 years, generating upward of $1.5 million for community partners in social services, health, education and the arts. Last year's 20th-anniversary edition raised $106,000 for two local nonprofits.

This year's sole beneficiary is KidsQuest, which plans to convert the 510 Bellevue Way NE space into a larger permanent downtown home with a targeted early 2029 opening. The expanded museum expects to serve more than 350,000 visitors annually, nearly doubling its current reach.

KidsQuest will continue operating at its current location at 1116 108th Ave. NE while designing, fundraising for and building out the former BAM space.

Kemper connection

Kemper Development Company, which owns the Bellevue Collection adjacent to the BAM building, played a role in bringing the purchase together. When the purchase-and-sale agreement was announced in January, Kemper President John Carlson called the museum's downtown move "an exciting new moment for Bellevue."

The Fashion Reigns show kicks off a run of fall fashion programming at the Bellevue Collection, including Style Code Consultations Sept. 17-20, a Glow Series Pilates event Sept. 27 and the Fall Edit Runway Show on Oct. 3.
