TikTok is cutting 75 jobs at its Lincoln Square North office in downtown Bellevue. It is the second straight year the company has eliminated e-commerce positions in the city, even as its TikTok Shop division posts record U.S. revenue.

The layoffs, disclosed in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed by affiliate TT Commerce & Global Services LLC, are scheduled to take effect Oct. 19.

The filing, which was copied to Bellevue Mayor Mo Malakoutian, cites "recent restructuring of the company's operations," according to the Downtown Bellevue Network.

Affected roles sit squarely inside TikTok Shop and global e-commerce teams.

Job titles in the filing include product managers, data scientists, backend and frontend software engineers, anti-fraud and governance program managers, campaign managers and seller growth operations staff. Employees received at least 60 days' notice and can apply for other positions within the company.

A pattern in Bellevue

In July 2025, TikTok and parent company ByteDance filed separate WARN notices covering a combined 65 employees, most tied to TikTok Shop.

The new round brings the two-year total to roughly 140 local positions eliminated from a workforce the Downtown Bellevue Network estimates at about 1,600 across the Puget Sound region.

The Bellevue cuts are part of a broader consolidation. TikTok announced in August 2026 that it will close its Nashville office and eliminate about 250 jobs there, also effective in October.

A TikTok USDS Joint Venture spokesperson said the Nashville closure was meant to streamline operations and align teams for long-term growth, according to The Economic Times.

TikTok has not issued a comparable public statement specific to the Bellevue reductions.

Sales double, headcount shrinks

The layoffs come as TikTok Shop's U.S. business is growing fast. The platform generated an estimated $11.8 billion in gross merchandise value in the U.S. during the first half of 2026, more than double the same period a year earlier, according to research firm Momentum Works and analytics provider Tabcut.

That 103% jump made the U.S. TikTok Shop's largest single market, overtaking Indonesia.

The number of U.S. TikTok Shop stores nearly tripled during that span, rising from 475,000 to 1.35 million, according to Momentum Works. Separately, eMarketer forecasts TikTok Shop's full-year U.S. e-commerce sales will reach $23.4 billion in 2026, a 48% increase over 2025.

TikTok told CNBC that live shopping sales more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

Ownership change hasn't slowed cuts

TikTok signed an agreement in January to divest 45% of its U.S. operations to an investor group that includes Oracle, Silver Lake and MGX. American and global investors hold 80.1% of the new venture, TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, while ByteDance retains 19.9%, Reuters reported.

The Bellevue and Nashville cuts came less than eight months after TikTok signed that divestiture agreement.

Bellevue's broader tech layoff wave

TikTok is not alone.

In August alone, Salesforce announced 59 cuts across its Bellevue and Seattle offices, and Visa eliminated 70 downtown Bellevue jobs, according to the Downtown Bellevue Network. In June, Bungie cut 292 positions at its downtown Bellevue headquarters. In May, Meta reduced its Bellevue workforce by 699.

TikTok did open a new 40,000-square-foot Bellevue office for its U.S. Data Security division in 2025.

The Oct. 19 separation date remains the only confirmed forward milestone for the Lincoln Square North workforce.
