Mayor Mo Malakoutian and Deputy Mayor Dave Hamilton delivered Bellevue's annual State of the City address at Meydenbauer Center on Wednesday, June 24.

Malakoutian and Hamilton called the city "strong" and "progressing with purpose" while acknowledging that housing, transportation, and managing growth remain its hardest problems.

"Housing is hard. Transportation is hard. Managing growth is hard," Malakoutian told the audience. "But Bellevue has something very important. We listen, we plan, we build and we keep coming for the hard work."

No new policies, programs, or funding were announced. The address, co-presented with the Bellevue Downtown Association, featured a sit-down Q&A and a guest appearance by a local high-school senior who asked the mayor about affordability.
