Rabbi Mordechai Farkash, who leads Chabad of Bellevue and the Eastside Torah Center at 16199 Northup Way, will teach sessions on Jewish law, philosophy, and outreach strategy at the annual Chabad Young Professionals Kinus in Austin, Texas, in July.
The conference brings together Chabad emissaries from across the globe who work with Jewish adults in their 20s and 30s. COLlive, which reported the event on Monday, June 23, described young-professional outreach as one of the fastest-growing areas of Chabad's global mission work. Berel Frankel directs Chabad Young Professionals International, the umbrella organization behind the gathering.
Farkash is the author of "Seder Chupa V'Kidushin," a practical guide to Jewish marriage law, and is cited within the Chabad movement as an authority on the subject. Born in Jerusalem to Rabbi Yekutiel Farkash, a noted scholar, he has led the Bellevue center for years.
Residents can reach Chabad of Bellevue at (425) 957-7860 or ChabadBellevue.org.
