Order a bowl of chowder at Duke's Seafood and $2 goes straight to Washington wildfire victims. The fundraiser runs through Aug. 31 at all six of the chain's Puget Sound locations, including the downtown Bellevue restaurant in Lincoln Square South.

The fundraiser comes as wildfires continue to burn across eastern Washington. The Spokane Complex fires alone scorched nearly 10,000 acres and destroyed more than 800 structures before reaching 97% containment on Aug. 13, according to Fox 13 Seattle. Other blazes, including the Kaiser Canyon Fire near Nespelem and the Little Giant Fire near Leavenworth, remain active.

Gov. Bob Ferguson announced $1.5 million in state cash assistance on Saturday, Aug. 15, for households whose homes were severely damaged or destroyed. Eligible families in Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Okanogan, Spokane, Stevens and Yakima counties can receive grants of $750 to $2,250 for temporary housing, food and immediate expenses.

"Losing your home to a fire is devastating, and no family should have to worry about how they will pay for the basics in the days and weeks that follow," Ferguson said in the announcement.

The Bellevue Duke's Seafood is at 500 Bellevue Way NE, Suite 212, on the second floor of Lincoln Square South. It is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close daily. Free parking is validated for three hours.
