A national escape room franchise with more than 120 locations worldwide will add a seven-room venue at The Bellevue Collection before the end of 2026.
Escapology, founded in Orlando in 2014, will make the Bellevue site its second in Washington state. The company already operates a location at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, according to the Downtown Bellevue Network.
The signing continues a streak of experiential entertainment tenants at the Kemper Development Company-owned complex. Game Show Battle Rooms opened at Lincoln Square South on June 12, and VR venue Mirra launched there in 2024.
What it offers
Each Escapology game locks a private group inside a themed room for 60 minutes to find clues, decode ciphers, and solve puzzles. The company says guests should allow 90 minutes total, including check-in and a post-game debrief with a complimentary group photo.
Groups never share a room with strangers.
The Bellevue venue will feature seven themed rooms: 7 Deadly Sins, Who Stole Mona?, A Pirate's Curse, Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Castle Adventure, Batman: The Dark Knight Challenge, Mansion Murder, and Haunted House.
Beyond walk-in play, the location will host corporate team-building events, birthday parties, children's groups, and full venue buyouts.
The numbers
Escapology's 48 stand-alone U.S. franchises that operated for all of fiscal year 2025 reported average gross sales of $793,521, according to the company's franchise disclosure document. Initial investment for a new franchise ranges from $630,500 to $2,535,500.
The chain reported 1.4 million escape game players in the prior year across its network.
Who's behind it
Brothers Simon and Paul Davison founded Escapology in 2014. The company began franchising in 2016, reached 50 locations by 2020, and has since expanded internationally.
An Escapology executive identified as Burton said in the announcement that the Bellevue opening builds on the Lynnwood venue's success and called the region a natural fit for expansion into the Puget Sound market.
What's still unknown
The announcement did not specify which building within The Bellevue Collection will house the venue, nor did it provide square footage, a staffing estimate, or an exact opening date beyond "late 2026."
