Bellevue's BelRed Arts District is throwing a free World Cup block party on June 26, steps from the light rail that carries fans directly to the stadium.

The Soccer Party in the Arts District runs from 2:30 to 8 p.m. at BelRed Light Rail Station, 1513 130th Ave NE. The City of Bellevue organized the event to coincide with the Egypt vs. Iran Group G match, which kicks off at 8 p.m. at Seattle Stadium.

The headline attraction: a RoboKeeper challenge, where attendees try to beat a robotic goalkeeper equipped with two cameras capturing 90 images per second.

The machine reacts in 0.3 seconds and accelerates 20 times faster than a Formula 1 car, according to the city's event listing.

Andy Arkley, a Seattle-area artist whose past work includes a site-specific installation at the Bellevue Art Museum, built a 30-foot inflatable walk-through piece titled "Into The Magic Land" for the occasion.

"ONE DAY ONLY! I'll have an enormous installation made out of inflatables for the BelRed Arts District's Soccer Party," Arkley wrote on social media, crediting Sandy Vo for championing the project and the City of Bellevue for making it happen.

The Vera Project, a Seattle all-ages nonprofit, will run live screen printing on-site with art by local artist Sarah Robbins, who also created a freestanding photobooth station. Cascadia Pizza Co. will serve wood-fired pizzas and nonalcoholic beverages from its food truck.

The timing is no accident. Egypt leads Group G with four points after its historic 3-1 win over New Zealand on Sunday, June 21, the country's first-ever World Cup win. Iran sits second with two points.

Friday's match determines which teams advance to the Round of 32.

Bellevue residents heading to the game can board the 2 Line directly from BelRed Station.

Sound Transit's cross-lake segment opened March 28, 2026, and the system set an all-time ridership record of 280,000 on June 19 during the U.S. vs. Australia match.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration required.
