New Seahawks controlling owner Neeru Khosla told reporters Wednesday, Sept. 9, she plans to bring free AI tutoring to every child in the Seattle area through the team's charitable foundation.

"I am here to bring AI tutoring so that every kid in Seattle can get a tutor, personal tutor," Khosla said at the family's introductory press conference at Lumen Field. "So it'll be free. I'm serious about that."

The pledge came during a 30-minute session where the Khosla family laid out its vision for the franchise it purchased for an NFL-record $9.612 billion, as ESPN reported. League owners unanimously approved the sale Aug. 26, and the deal closed Sept. 3.

Neeru Khosla co-founded the CK-12 Foundation, a nonprofit that has provided free AI-powered K-12 math and science tools since 2007. The organization has served more than 450 million learners worldwide, according to the Seahawks' official website. She said the technology could personalize lessons around a child's interests, whether football, music or medicine.

No timeline, school district partners or funding details were announced.

Vinod Khosla, the team's chair and co-founder of Sun Microsystems, signaled a hands-off approach to football operations. He said the family's philosophy would be to hold "lots of discussions and then leave it to management to decide."

He struck a lighthearted tone about inheriting a Super Bowl champion, as KING 5 reported. "How lucky is that?" he said.

"How often do you get to buy a team that just won the Super Bowl?"

Neal Khosla, the family's vice chair and CEO of AI health startup Curai Health, recalled attending Seattle's playoff blowout of the San Francisco 49ers last season.

It was his first trip to Lumen Field. He described a crowd that stayed deafening even with a 30-point lead in the fourth quarter, saying the experience showed him the Seahawks were "built different."

The family posed with a No. 12 jersey bearing the Khosla name before taking the stage in a room filled with Seahawks partners, business leaders and elected officials.

Vinod introduced one infant grandchild as the family's "newest 12."

The Khoslas said they will not relocate to Seattle but pledged to spend significant time in the region.

Vinod said he and Neeru have lived in the same home since 1986.

The family also announced white throwback uniforms will return in 2027. After the press conference, Vinod called the Seahawks a "generational asset" for his family, then pointed to his 3½-month-old grandson who had traveled to Seattle for the occasion.
